After the site visit, you receive a written estimate that spells out prep, products, timeline, and what is included so you are not comparing vague one-line bids.

TrueEdge Paint serves the Des Moines metro from our Pleasant Hill registered business location, including Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Urbandale, Clive, Johnston, Waukee, Altoona, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Grimes, Bondurant, and nearby Polk, Dallas, and Warren County communities. If you are outside that core area, contact us and we will tell you directly whether the project fits our schedule.

We commonly use premium lines from Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr, selected by surface and project type rather than brand name alone. Interior walls, cabinets, exterior siding, trim, masonry, and garage floors all need different products. Your estimate will list the coating system recommended for your surfaces.

Yes. TrueEdge Paint backs painting projects with a 2-year workmanship warranty. That covers failures caused by our workmanship, not unrelated leaks, structural movement, abuse, or normal wear. Warranty terms belong in the written agreement, so you know what is covered before the project starts.

How long does a typical painting project take?

A single interior room is often one day. A full interior repaint is commonly 3-5 days. Many exterior repaints are 2-4 working days once weather cooperates. Cabinet painting usually takes 3-5 days because doors and drawer fronts need proper cleaning, sanding, priming, spraying, and cure time. The real timeline depends on prep, access, weather, and drying conditions.

Do I need to move my furniture?

We can move most standard furniture away from walls and protect floors and belongings before painting. Before we arrive, remove fragile items, electronics, wall decor, valuables, and anything you do not want handled. For cabinets, clear counters and empty the cabinet areas being worked on so the crew can prep and spray cleanly.

Can you help me evaluate color and sheen options?

During the estimate, we can discuss how lighting, existing finishes, flooring, cabinets, brick or stone, and intended use affect color and sheen. Final selections and any sample or specialty design work are documented in the written scope; this is practical project guidance, not a separate professional interior-design service.

Can you match my existing paint color?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if there is a usable sample or existing paint record. A physical chip, leftover can, or removable piece is best. Keep in mind that older paint can fade, sheen can change, and wall texture affects how a touch-up looks. We will tell you when a true touch-up is realistic and when a full wall repaint will look cleaner.

What is your payment policy?

The standard deposit is 30% at contract signing, with the balance due at completion unless the written agreement says otherwise. Some specialty projects may require different material or scheduling terms. Payment details are included in the proposal so the deposit, balance, and project scope all match before work begins.

Yes, low-VOC and zero-VOC options are available and commonly recommended for interiors, bedrooms, nurseries, and occupied homes. Product selection still depends on durability needs. A bathroom, cabinet, trim package, or rental turnover may need a tougher coating than a low-traffic bedroom wall.

Interior work is often best booked 2-4 weeks ahead. Exterior work during peak season is better booked 4-6 weeks ahead because weather windows fill quickly.
